This policy explains what personal data FundFinder AI (“FundFinder”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use fundfinder.ng, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

1. Who we are

FundFinder AI is a funding intelligence service that publishes grants, loans, accelerator programmes and empowerment schemes open to Nigerian and African businesses. FundFinder is operated from Lagos, Nigeria.

2. What we collect

What we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. We do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

3. Legal basis for processing

• Consent — for marketing emails and funding alerts. You may withdraw it at any time.
• Contract — to provide the account, tools and any paid services you request.
• Legitimate interest — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve what we publish.
• Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with Nigerian law.

4. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run FundFinder:

• Paystack — payment processing. Card details go directly to Paystack; they never reach our servers.
• Zoho — email delivery for funding alerts and subscription management.
• Netlify — website hosting and serverless functions.
• Cloudflare — DNS and network protection.
• AI model providers — to generate responses in the chat assistant. Messages are sent for processing only.

These providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards permitted under the NDPA. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. Social media pages

We operate pages on X (Twitter), LinkedIn and Facebook where we publish funding opportunities. If you interact with those pages, the relevant platform processes your data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We publish our own content to those pages; we do not use their APIs to collect data about you.

6. How long we keep data

• Account data — for as long as your account is active, then up to 12 months after closure.
• Alert subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
• Chat messages — up to 12 months.
• Transaction records — as long as Nigerian tax and accounting law requires.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and passwords are stored hashed. We restrict internal access to personal data to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the NDPA requires.

8. Your rights

Under the NDPA you may:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your data, where no legal duty requires us to keep it
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing
• Withdraw consent to marketing at any time
• Request your data in a portable format
• Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission

9. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure, and we may use limited analytics cookies to understand which funding listings are read. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may then not work.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change materially affects your rights, we will tell you directly.
